Ada tiga jenis model pengukuran, yaitu
model pengukuran konjenerik, ekuivalen tau dan paralel. Model pengukuran
konjenerik mengasumsikan semua nilai muatan faktor (lambda) dan varians eror (e) pengukuran
antar butir bervariasi. Model ekuivalen tau mengasumsikan hanya nilai muatan
butir saja yang bervariasi. Sebaliknya, model pengukuran paralel, memiliki
asumsi lebih ketat, semua nilai muatan butir (lambda) dan eror pengukuran (e) antar butir
memiliki kesamaan, alias tidak bervariasi.
